Photo Spot
I bought my first digital camera in 1996 (an Epson PhotoPC) and started taking photos during my work trips to various locations across America.
My Camera History
- 1996-2000 - An original Epson PhotoPC. I had the memory expanded to 4MB. It could hold up to 99 640x480 photos.
- 2000-2003 - Sony DSC-70. Much improved over the Epson, this camera jumped to 3.2 megapixels, had removeable media, a zoom, and viewscreen. I would travel with three 64MB Memory Sticks, and three batteries, filling up the sticks and running down the batteries each day.
- 2003-2004 - Casio EX-Z4U. A tiny and fast camera which was just a joy to use. I had a 1GB SD card for this one, but it required a tripod to take non-blurry images in low light levels, unlike the DSC-70 which was fabulous taking pics inside Haunted Mansion Holiday or other attractions at Disneyland.
- 2004-2005 - Sony DSC-W1. I decided to go back to Sony, but this camera wasn't much better than the Casio (and was certainly much larger). Battery life was great, and a 1GB Memory Stick pro let me start taking pictures at full resolution. I still have it, but I really wanted a camera that would help with low-light photos.
- 2005 - Nikon Coolpix 5400. Not used on any trips, but purchased so I could take one-short VR images uinsg a special lens. So far, I haven't done anything at the theme parks with it.
- 2005-Current - FujiFilm F10. This tiny camera was similar to the Casio, but with an ISO1600 setting it could take low light images closer to the DSC-70 I previously had. It is also blazing fast, and one battery gets me through 1GB of xD picture taking. So far, so good.
